I feel like screaming...

We learned that Edvard Munch was an agrophobic, and these feeling inspired his picture,
 'The Scream'

Here are some of our interpretations of 'The Scream'

We are also working on  digital and pastel interpretations of 'The Scream'.
Look out for them later on this week....

What is inside those beakers?

How long does it take for water at different temperatures to reach room temperature?

Careful handling of thermometers ensured accurate reading in our temperature investigation.

Here's a clue to the puzzle at the bottom of the last post

Your total for each row can be 19 or 20.
I must be feeling generous.

Addition strategies

We are investigating strategies for adding up. Try the triangle puzzle below. When you have done that have a go at the harder puzzle at the bottom. I look forward to some correct answers.......

Weekend brain doings...

How much is each colour worth?
Write your ansewers on the back of a postcard and send them to Mr Rhys-Jones.....
(You don't really need to use a postcard, but it would be nice if you could draw out the puzzle and show me some of your workings out on some paper)

ORDER..!

In the library we played  'Ordering the Author' game with Mrs. A.
We beat our score and time from last week.
Well done us.

What is an adjective?

We played an adjective game. Why don't you try it at home?
The cat
The big cat
The big hairy cat
See who can think of the most interesting adjectives.... and remember the most!

Polygon Investigation

We used our number skills to work out missing angles from triangles. We started with an isosceles triangle and looked at its properties. After deciding on some rules - Isosceles triangles have 2 equal corners and 2 equal sides and angles in triangles always add up to 180degrees we were able to investigate the missing angles. We also looked at scalene triangles and right angled triangles.

Finding our way around mapwork...

If you click on the map you will be able to see it more clearly. We have been learning about using compass directions in humanities.
See if you can write some directions like then ones we followed in class, below,  in order to get to the treasure. Start from Smugglers Cove.  ( Look for the red X )
Can you draw your own map and hide some treasure? Your friend could follow some directions. How easy are your directions to follow?
